Teaching at an overseas schools has its advantages and its disadvantages. The advantage is the wonderfully, awesome chance to live and work overseas and to experience life from a different perspective. The building of the school is great and it is awesome to step right out of the classroom and be outside! The school has a unique feel to it and it is an excellent place to be.
Disadvantages exist no matter where a person teaches, but at an overseas school access to supplies and resources can be limited. That is the case here but despite the lack of resources, I feel that my classroom is very conducive to learning and that the students will find it bright and colorful.
The students that I have met so far are just like students back home. They are kids and I am sure that the challenges students face at home will be no different here. I am also sure that I will hear the same excuses for homework not being done.
